(Part1)

(Take this Conjugation only after viewing the sessions up to Class17)

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاتة dear brothers and sisters,
Following are the verbs on which we can practice conjugating the Mudhar’i.
These verbs appear often in the Qur’an..and inshallah this will be of added advantage for all of us, as practicing these verbs helps in retaining the meaning and be-ithnilllah, will get us one step closer towards understanding the Qur’an (read the note which is given at the end of the verb list).
Verb list:
Note:
Focus only on the last two columns of the right , which gives the Past tense and the Present tense.

Consider the points when conjugating the 5 Verbs (AfaalulKhamsah).
1. The Afaaul Khamsah are
 يَفعَلانِ   ,   تَفعَلانِ , يَفعَلُونَ , تَفعَلُونَ , تَفعَلِينَ

2. Remember the steps on how to convert a Maadhi to Mudhaari??? (don’t forget !! u can check the recordings of the previous class if u have doubts )
Just for an example; lets try converting ضرب to an appropriate form of Mudhaari addressing TO A GROUP OF MALE
So, what is the first step?
Ans: Take the Maadhi of the concerned verb and add a TAA (why taa? because we are addressing TO a group)
so, ضَرَبَ  becomes تضَرَبَ
The second step is to give the yaa, a fatha (but we will give a taa in this step as we are addressing / speaking TO a group)

تَضَرَبَ

The third step is to give the faa-ul kalimah a sukoon, in here..the the ض is the faa ul kalimah

تَضرَبَ

The fourth step is to give the Laam-ul-Kalimah a dhammah…

تَضرَبُ

The fifth step is to give the Aynul Kalimah , the sign of its chapter. So, when we refer back , we know that it belongs to the third chapter

 فعل – يَفعِلُ

Hence, we give a kasrah to the Aynul Kalimah.

تَضرِبُ

The above steps are the general steps that we would do for a mudhari.
تَضرِبُ   means You(singular) (masucline) are hitting .
[NOTE:  I have bypassed one step, Ustaadh would start off with adding a yaa(step#1) to the Maadhi and would come upto step#5, and in the next  step, he would replace the yaa with a taa.]
In order to refer this to a Group:

  • Do we add a Yaa? No, When is yaa added? Its it added for single female
  • Do we add an alif? No, why? Because, alif is used for two
  • If not yaa and alif, then what is it? It is wow because, wow is used to point out to the group
hence, add wow at the end.

تَضرِبُو

Note:

Don’t forget the Mother and Child relationship, which applies to the following:
Wow and a Dhammah,
Alif and a Fatha
Yaa and a Kasrah
We know that the Afaalul Khamsaah always ends with a NOON .

hence add a noon at the end
تَضرِبُون

Don’t forget..that the only time a Noon gets a kasrah is when it’s a dual
Now, the current example, is it a dual ?? No
Hence, we give it a fathah
Why not a Kasrah? Coz Kasrah will be given if noon comes after alif (when its a dual)

َ تَضرِبُون

3. Dont forget to refer back to the chapter in order to determine the sign of AynulKalimah in the mudhar3e
In the above examples(Verb lists), the chapters are highlighted.
InShaaAllaah, now u can try doing with all the verbs that is mentioned in the example above..
Once u r done conjugating the examples to the Af’aalul Khamsah.
Whatz next ?
Try something like the below, so that we can have a relevance.
Take any of the verb mentioned in the Sheet provided above. Lets consider for an example نَصَر
1. Go to this site :http://corpus.quran.com/qurandictionary.jsp  and choose the letter NOON (as in the example.نَصَر starts with noon) from the list of alphabets
2. Click on the drop down, and choose ن ص ر   and then click GO
3. Now you will have all the forms of the verb ن ص ر which appear in the Qur’an.
Try looking for the ones that you are  familiar with..(Maadhee and Mudhar’ee)
Lets try the same for all the verbs which are listed above in the sheets 1,2 and 3..
May Allah grant us success !!!
(InShaaAllaah, Quiz coming shortly which will be based on the verbs which are listed above in sheet1,sheet2 and sheet3. Memorize sheet1-3 with their meanings..this will bring us one step closer in understanding the Qur’an.)
